# Parted Magic > Parted Magic is a paid, bootable Linux distribution for disk management. It boots from USB, optical disc, or PXE and runs entirely in RAM. The toolkit covers partitioning (VisParted, GParted), disk cloning (Clonezilla, ddrescue), data rescue, drive health (SMART, Drive Grader), benchmarking, and NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2-compliant secure erasure for HDDs, SATA SSDs, and NVMe drives. Every erase operation generates a signed PDF certificate of destruction.
